Throne Room Pedals The Revelator Distortion

Today’s rad daily pedal comes to us from Throne Room Pedals in lovely Bellingham, WA. The Revelator is a monster of epic proportions, and is about as versatile as you can get with a boost-overdrive-distortion-fuzz pedal. The usual knobs are present here (Volume, Gain and Tone), but what makes the Revelator stand out is the addition of a 3-Way toggle switch. This allows you to go between Silicone, Germanium and IC-based distortion tones, making the sonic possibilities numerous.

The Silicone and Germanium selections sound great: fuzzy, creamy, overdriven distortion with a tinge of fuzz when the Gain is past 3:00. The IC toggle is the one that really shines, in my opinion, cutting through any mix you can throw at it. Great, smooth drive, with loads of sustain for days, this selection brings out the best in the Revelator. Turn down the Gain, and it’s also an awesome clean boost! This pedal is extremely useful in many different sonic situations, and can absolutely be dialed in to fit your needs. Clea, Overdrive, Distortion, Fuzz – what else could you want from one single pedal?
