Mr. Black has outdone himself again with this pedal, the Downward Spiral. I would like to classify this pedal as ambient delay: instead of the typical echo you would naturally hear, the Downward Spiral takes the note and reproduces it in a lower octave that you can make basically never end. This pedal comes with 3 different knobs on the top, Level, Regen, Time.

We’ll start with the Regen knob – this knob allows you to adjust how much of the actual note regeneration happens turning this knob to the far right takes every noise/note and regenerates it completely an octave down every time. With the knob half way the regenerated note isn’t as reproduced and still maintains a portion of its original sound. The Time Knob allows you to adjust how long the notes reproduce for, knob to the far right is endless lower octave notes of the original note and to the far left makes it so there is no reproduction at all kind of the same theory as a tap delay button. Finally the level knob is self explanatory it controls the over all saturation of the pedals effect to your amp.

This pedal is great for making doomy ambient noises or if you dial most of the effect out almost leaves you with a big room reverb/chorus kind of sound. You definitely need to go out and pick one up for yourself and try it !

  1. Looks like a pretty rad pedal. Love the website, look forward to checking more out! Something I would love to see is a link to the product’s website and/or a price on the product, as that would make it easy for people to potentially buy one for themselves if they like the review. Just my thought. Thanks again!
