Noisemaker Effects Nebula Reverb / Delay

The Nebula from Noisemaker Effects is a pint-sized dual pedal, offering both Reverb and Delay, plus the option to use both simultaneously. If you put it onto your board vertically, it’s not much wider than a standard Boss pedal, making it ideal for space-saving, and producing some nice tones as well.

The left side (Reverb) features 3 control knobs: Reverb, Feedback B and Mix B. Reverb controls the amount of the effect you’re getting, the Feedback controls how long the trails last once the note is plucked, plus a nice bit of oscillation and Mix adjusts how much Wet and/or Dry signal is coming through your amp. The Reverb section is very nice, nothing too fancy or over-the-top, just some great, mellow, ambient sounds to play with, as the echoes range in time from 10ms to 140ms. When fiddling with the knobs, you get some great control over the overall sound you’re producing, and having the ability to allow just the Wet signal to come through is always a treat. The right side (Delay) is much the same, with the Delay knob replacing Reverb as the only difference. Again, some nice delay sound, nothing too fancy, with times ranging from 30ms up to 1.2 seconds – plenty of range for most delay needs! When both effects are engaged simultaneously, the real magic of this pedal shines through. Reverb-infused delay is about as good a guitar effect as you can have, and when you can do it with just one pedal…bonus. Both sides compliment each other extremely well, and sound lush and magnificent pouring through an amplifier.

Depending on the positioning of a few knobs, there’s a little bit of scratchiness to the tone in the Nebula, but it’s minor and insignificant next to the sound of the pedal overall. Plus, my version is a Custom Label Limited Edition – only 10 were made, so it’s a cool collector’s item as well! Noisemaker Effects is a small company based in Missoula, Montana, but they have a vast and eclectic line of products, with something for everyone to try – keep an eye out for more of their gear in the future!
