FoxPedal The Wrath Distortion

The Wrath (w rat h) is a beautiful take on the famous, rodent distortion – the Proco Rat. What I mean by beautiful is far more than graphics. This “rat” crosses through tunnel ways from places like a light overdrive, a high gain overdrive, gritty and cool distortion, “open” distortion (if that makes sense), cool fuzz vibe (oh the vibe!), and lastly, full out fuzz. I honesty don’t think I have found all the uses for this pedal yet. So versatile and Sooooo good. The wrath is truely special from all the other “Rat” type pedals. However, those famous Jeff beck and David Gilmour tones are completely available. The Wrath by Foxpedal can cut into the mix and make the cut onto your pedal board, kicking off gain stage pedals with triple the price tag. Just sayin!

The Wrath has four knobs and a toggle switch, so let’s get into those:

Gain- pretty obvious, this knob controls the level of gain.
Level- controls the overall volume.
Cut- this is basically your tone knob. It cuts frequencies.
Sweep (the magic knob)- interacts with the gain saturation and the “cut.” From all the way left you have a grittier, very saturated gain. Very fuzzy, very cool. From all the way right you have a very tight gain with low saturation. Turn the the knob to taste. Because you’re messing with saturation, the presence of frequencies slightly changes from left to right (at least to my ears), but adjusting is easy and may not be needed.
Toggle switch- towards the right you have a more “open” gain and an overall louder volume. Towards the left you have a grittier gain. These two characters are so good. It may be worth to have two Wraths…

All in all, go get this pedal. Seriously pleased. Do note that it could take oneself a bit of time at first to understand how each control can effect another control. This makes it slightly harder to dial in a setting, but when you understand how everything works, this pedal really shines.
