Garland Guitar Services Cosmo Delay

Delays are probably my favorite effect on the planet. I have a vast collection of them, and each one is unique in it’s own right, no matter how similar they may seem. I love running across hidden delay gems as well, and a prime example of this is the Cosmo Delay from Garland Guitar Services. I happened upon this at my favorite gear-buying site, and the price was just too good to pass up, even though I could find absolutely ZERO information about it, so I decided to take a chance. Boy, I’m sure glad that I did.

Although unlabeled, my keen guitar pedal prowess enabled me to detect the controls for this delay, luckily for all of my readers. Volume, Feedback and Time appear to be what we have to work with, which makes for a nice, simple delay, but one not to be thrown into the “boring” bin by any means. The Cosmo is a warm, dark analog delay, with the delay time maxing out at 700ms, which is great for anything from reverb, slap back, percussive echo and crazy, spacey, out-of-this-world feedback noises. The Feedback knob itself allows the pedal to completely self-oscillate, which pushes you further and further into the outer reaches of space. At higher delay time levels, the Cosmo even starts to break up a bit, a common property of the darker analog delays, and one that adds character and texture to your sound.

This Cosmo Delay pedal is not going to leave my collection, I don’t think, ever. Why would it? It has a broad range of sounds to play with, that smooth (but sometimes rough) analog delay tone, and is capable of sending you on a rocket ship to Jupiter and back. Twice. Thanks to Patrick from Garland Guitar Services for the info on the pedal, make sure to go see what they’ve got to offer. Good luck finding one of these guys, but if you happen to stubmble across one, don’t hesitate to pick it up – you won’t be disappointed.

  1. Awesome reviews Pedal of the Day!! Thanks so much for the kind words and excellent walk-through of the features.

I actually find it to be brighter on the initial repeat, which mixes in better with your natural guitar tone – fading out into the common darker repeat as it works. I love it too 🙂

    BTW, NEW WEBSITE!! – http://garlandeffects.com
