XAct Tone Solutions based out of Nashville, TN not only builds rigs and pedal boards for the players for the stars, but they also make an incredible line of pedals. The Precision Multi-Drive is an overdrive pedal with more options and combinations for the serious tone tweaker who seeks versatility in one stomp box.
The XTS Precision Multi-Drive is similar to the XTS Precision Overdrive but with switches for more flexibility and control. The pedal is designed to respond like a tube amplifier and also set with a wider gain range to go from a nice clean boost with the gain below 9 o’clock to higher gain when the gain is turned past 3 o’clock.
The XTS Precision Multi-Drive has 3 main controls (Volume, Gain , Color) and 2 toggle switches: one for “bite/edge/punch” and one for “slim/fat/fatter” which contour the eq. The “Bite” setting is similar to the familiar Screamer sounds and “Edge” is a vintage vibe to add some EL84 British bliss. “Punch” is just that, punchy California overdrive tones, and “Fat/Fatter” gives a bass eq boost that is full on!!
I tend to use this as a bit higher gain and it stacks really well with other pedals. The overdrive is smooth and rich. Plus, I really love the quality, tone, and versatility of this pedal.
