greer amps fish press compressorI love a good compressor, and while some I’ve tried in the past haven’t blown me away, and some didn’t really even do too much to my signal, less is more when it comes to compression, and that’s the name of the game with the Fish Press from our friends at Greer Amps.

Your basic two-knob layout for the controls makes this pedal none-too-difficult to dial in. Based on the vintage Dan Armstrong Orange Squeezer, the Fish Press is an all-analog, studio grade compressor trapped in a cool green stompbox. The Volume knob boost the signal generated by the pedal, depending on how much you need, and the Squish knob determines how much your signal gets compressed, from a little bit to a whole ton. Big range in this knob, allowing the player to really focus in on their individual setup, and have the compression work just right for them. This thing doesn’t kill your tone, either, it really allows your guitar’s true sound to still come shining through, which can be rare in a compression pedal.

Easy to use, a wonderful tone enhancer, and built with quality and care, Greer Amps knocks another pedal right out of the park. IF you want something that won’t color your tone, but will beef up your sound and make you want to be a better guitar player, the Fish Press is what you’ve been waiting for.
