The Mobius super-modulation pedal from Strymon is yet another example of some of the finest gear offerings available on the market today, and doesn’t really leave much to chance as far as options and tones are concerned. Created in the same realm and structure as the TimeLine Delay and BigSky Reverberator, the Mobius is a true all-in-one modulation box, supplying just about any kind of phaser, flanger, chorus and vibrato sound you could ever want or need, plus a whole lot more.

As with the other two units, the Mode knob here is incredible, with twelve different options to choose from: Chorus, Flanger, Rotary, Vibe, Phaser, Formant, Vintage Trem, Pattern Trem, Autoswell, Destroyer and Quadrature. Each of these modes utilizes the other on-board control knobs (Speed, Depth, Level, Param 1 and Param 2) to select from multiple in-mode divisions, creating a truly breathtaking (and sometimes daunting) menu of sonic choices and opportunities for you to explore.

The Param 1 and Param 2 controls are really the shining element to these big Strymon boxes, and when worked into the fold with the extensive library of modes present here, your creative palette really opens up, and the experimentation and musical unfoldings start to develop, mature and eventually takeover your sound (in the best way possible). The other main part about these pedals is that they SOUND great: there are loads of pedals on the market today that have tons of options, but might not necessarily retain the best sonic qualities. Not the case with the Mobius and the other two, as each one represents a high standard of quality, studio-grade effects right at your feet.

The external features here are useful as always, too: Stereo and MIDI Input and Output, Expression pedal or external tap optional jack, selectable analog buffered bypass and dark blue aluminum chassis are just a few of the features available for your enjoyment and precision tweaking with the Mobius. Add on top of that 200 Preset settings, and you’ve got one of the finest, flexible and creative modulation pedals in the world. With so many different modulation choices in one box, it might be a little tricky at first to figure out how to utilize them all to your advantage, but as with most Strymon stompboxes, a little manual reading and a little focused time and determination will end up yielding results beyond your wildest dreams.

Check out the video for a SMALL taste of what this pedal can do, then go pick one up and cancel all meetings and social interactions for the next two weeks, as you will be engrossed in a splendid array of lush, sweeping, warm effect options that will barely give you time to eat or sleep. Thanks to our friends at Strymon for allowing us the pleasure to test out the Mobius and see everything it can do….well, probably not, but we sure tried to get close.
