Outlaw Effects 24K Reverb

For being such a small and pedalboard-friendly pedal, the 24K Reverb from Outlaw Effects has a bunch of control options, a load of different reverb sounds and some power you wouldn’t necessarily expect from a piece of gear this size.

The main controls on the 24K consist of Reverb, Tone, Decay and a mode switch. Reverb sets the amount of effects that is present in the signal path, or how intense the reverberation is at any given time. Decay controls the echo of the reverb, how long it lingers after you play a note or chord. Tone adds in or takes away the high end frequencies, easily adjustable in any setting.

The Mode toggle switch is the real bread and butter of this pedal. For being such a small device, you wouldn’t think the reverb sounds that it makes could be possible, but they certainly are. Room sets the feel of a small room, with the echoes bouncing of all four walls and coming back to you. Plate seeks to emulate the fatter, thicker reverb sounds classically produced in the 60’s and 70’s, and Spring sounds like you’re playing through a famous tube amplifier from days past. Each mode has it’s own strengths and weaknesses, but each one sounds good overall, with useable settings for them all.

This pedal takes a little sitting down and tweaking to get the sound you’re looking for, and, as with most stompboxes, different players will find different tones and uses in all different aspects throughout the 24K. Outlaw Pedals has a great lineup of pedalboard-friendly gear, and this reverb is a great way to start exploring their lineup. Thanks to the Outlaw family for sending this our way to check out – stay tuned for more Outlaw Effects‘ reviews coming your way soon!
