Outlaw Effects Quick Draw Delay

We recently reviewed the 24K Reverb pedal from our friends at Outlaw Effects, and today we have the pleasure of testing out another of their rad little creations, the Quick Draw Delay. This thing is little, but as usual with these types of space-savers, don’t let the size fool you. This delay packs a wallop and will destroy everything in its path…well, not really, but it’s a great delay nonetheless.

The Quick Draw features only three controls, but the options available are much more prevalent than that. The Echo knob adjusts the overall volume of the repeats, which is a great way to get some smooth delay tones without losing your original guitar sound in the mix. Repeats let you control how much oscillation becomes present in the echoes, going from one repeats all the way up to infinite self-oscillation territory, creating some wacky sounds along the way. Finally, Time controls the length of the delay, sporting an impressive range from 20ms-620ms, ample time for most players, or for use as a second delay that you set and don’t have to think about again. Plus, this knob is much bigger than the other two, and with a little practice, you can adjust it on the fly just by using your foot.

Little. Powerful. Sounds great. Fits on any pedalboard easily. Dirt cheap. These are features we all want in ANY pedal, and when one has all of them, it’s a big bonus. The Quick Draw Delay can do ambient stuff, analog-y tones and has enough power to slice through any mix with ease. Thanks to the crew over at Outlaw Effects for letting us test this little blue bad boy out – if you’re looking for inexpensive but quality gear that sounds great and saves you board real estate, make sure to visit their website and see what else they have to offer!
