Review episode Number Three of this “Fly Boys Week” takes our sonic adventures down a different path. The third pedal in this series from Totally Wycked Audio is the FB-03 Echo, a small and powerful delay pedal that works great for multiple musical applications.

This little digital delay produces a bright and shiny echo sound, which works as a perfect companion to a darker analog delay in your chain. Sporting a maximum delay time of 600 milliseconds, the FB-03 has a nice range of time to work with, and is great for everything from slap back rockabilly to slightly longer, drawn out delays. The echoes even have a bit of tape warble effect to them, giving it some classic analog overtones along with the modern sparkle of a digital delay.

Echo controls the number of repeats the delayed signal has, while Intense adjusts the overall delayed sound mixed with your guitar’s original dry signal. Rate, again controlled by a nice, large button for on-the-fly adjustments, sets the delay time, maxing out at 600ms. Manipulating these controls will lead to a wide array of delayed sounds, and when cranked the FB-03 will do some wycked (hehe) self-oscillation as well. From a slight echo to some sounds reaching into the depths of outer space, this space-saver will blast your rig right through the atmosphere and beyond.

The entire line of Fly Boys pedals are encased in sturdy but lightweight aluminum enclosure, making sure they can withstand any punishment thrown at them. Plus, with their small size, traveling to gigs and saving pedalboard space are certainly guaranteed. Thanks to Kevin and Godlyke for sending us this lineup of pedals for this exciting and Totally Wycked review week here – come back tomorrow and see what the next pedal is going to be!
