LS Effects Jolt Overdrive

In writing so many pedal reviews, I have had unique opportunities that not everyone gets, one of which is to discover smaller, lesser-known pedal builders and test out their products. I have come to find out that the little guys are putting out some incredible gear, and that you don’t always need to sport a big and popular name on a pedal for it to be great. LS Effects, out of Jacksonville, Florida, is a company I recently discovered by a chance acquisition of one of their overdrives, the Jolt.

One nice thing right off the bat is this pedal’s SIZE. I didn’t realize it when I initially saw the picture online, but once it arrived, I was pleasantly surprised and excited. The smaller enclosure makes it easy to fit into any signal chain or onto any pedalboard, while still producing some excellent boost and drive sounds. With only 2 simple controls, Volume and Gain, the Jolt is extremely easy to use, whether you want a nice, transparent clean boost, or a low-to-mid gain overdrive, with a slight amount of grit to kick your amp up to the next sonic level.

LS Effects uses great craftsmanship and quality ingredients to conjure up their signature sounds: metal film resistors, film and silver mica capacitors, power filtering, Neutrik and Switchcraft jacks, and they’re all true bypass. Really putting in some great effort and keeping their build standards high, these folks are pumping out some great gear, and they’re adding new stuff as we speak. Be sure to go check out their website and see all the pedals they have to offer, and help support the little guys!
