Backwoods Music Nightcap Reverb

Having recently reviewed their Mockingbird Delay, I was excited to see what Backwoods Music had in store for their newest reverb creation, the Nightcap. Featuring only 2 control knobs, the amount of ambience oozing out of this pedal is a bit astonishing, not to mention it has a few key options that all pedal users love and seek out.

The first control knob lets the user select from FOUR different reverb modes: Slapback, for short reverberated tones; Room, which echoes the classic spring reverb sounds on old tube amps; Hall, which adds a little bit of delay into the mix; and Arena, which takes the delay even further, conjuring up huge swells and massive echoes. With these 4 different modes, you have plenty to choose from as far as what reverb sounds you want in your chain, and they all feature unique and extremely useful tones as well.

The other control knob is a simple Mix knob, which adjusts the amount of each mode that is output from the pedal into the sonic mix. While it’s just one knob, the range on the Nightcap is BIG, and interacts in many ways with each reverb mode on Control Knob #1. This Mix control actually has a bunch of different uses and sounds, depending on which setting your in, proving that you don’t need a pedal the size of a Buick and a manual that reads like a Tolstoy novel to make incredible sounds come pouring out of your amplifier.

The Nightcap also features True Bypass, which almost everyone digs in some form or another, as well as my personal favorite, the Soft Touch bypass switch (who wants that click, anyway?).
