infanem 141g fuzzHaving reviewed a number of their pedals, I think it’s safe to say that the crew over at Infanem (Instruments For A New Electric Music) make some of my favorite pedals ever. Wildly inventive and a lot of time out-of-this-world, they take on fuzzes, phasers, delays and more, much to the delight of myself and many others throughout the pedal-playing community. Today’s pedal is the 141G, a tough monster of a fuzz, with fairly basic controls and a whole lot of balls, as any great fuzz should be required to have.

The bottom two In and Out knobs control the signal gain, both coming in and going out of the 141G, and uses a logarithmic potentiometer to make it all run smoothly. The top two knobs make up the Focus section of the fuzz, broken into 2 parts: Low and High. The tonal control portion of the 141G Fuzz, these 2 knobs concentrate their attention on the low and high ends, respectively, allowing for a monstrous tonal range and sonic depth that is always welcome in a fuzz. Both knobs will turn into oscillation machines when cranked, the Low producing some bass-heavy pulses, the High getting into squelch and squeal territory with ease.

There’s a lone toggle switch, too: the Gate. This tiny marvel cuts out any unwanted feedback that would usually be present after a note or chord has been played, making for really unique and creative stop/start wave pulsing and quirky stuttering sounds that continue to rage through your amp, even if the noise in between the individual notes doesn’t. Mix this in with the Low and High controls, adjust the In and Out controls to taste, and hold onto your fuzzy little hats, ’cause it’s gonna get nuts.

Another genius metal box from Infanem, the 141G Fuzz will bring instant gratification to anyone’s fuzz jones, and might even creep into a spot on your pedalboard that you thought you had permanently filled months ago. If you are looking for innovative sound-making machines that throw you a curveball around every sonic corner, then you have got to get over to their website, and check out more pedals from Infanem!
