From overdrives to analog echoes to “Sabbath In A Box”, the diversity and craftsmanship are second to none, which is why we were so excited about checking out’s today’s featured pedal, the Adineko Oil Can Delay. From simple, tasty echoes to odd, shifty, super-modulated delays, this little green box boasts a TON of options, and is a great piece of gear for those of us who love to twist and turn knobs all day long.

There’s a pretty unique set of controls on this puppy, starting with the Reverb knob. This is basically a repeats control, but the sound is a little different than a normal echo, as the delays are always modulating, making for unpredictable and exciting new tones. The Viscosity knob sets the amount of modulation that is present in the echo, from subtle to mind-blowing in an instant. Timing adjusts your delay time, up to one full second, making it much, much more versatile in this department than the old oil can units, whose delay time was relatively short and set.

The Blend knob on the Adineko mixes the Wet and Dry signals together to taste, and will do both 100% Wet and 100% Dry, allowing you to create the perfect setting for any musical genre. Finally, the Balance control essentially mixes the two internal playback heads, one short and one long, to create a vast palette on which to paint your sonic soundscapes. These two controls let you dial in the perfect settings for your overall sound, while the previous three do most of the sound-shaping legwork, but all 5 really do work together to create a perfect audio storm.

Another cool side note on the Adinekos is that each enclosure has been aged or reliced a bit, making it look a bit weathered or stained, as a visual throwback to oil can delays of the past. That kind of attention to detail and history is just one of the things that makes Catalinbread such a rad company, and one that we keep coming back to for reviews. Make sure to check out all the gear on their website, and thanks to them once again from us for sending this awesome and funky delay over to us to check out!
