Death By Audio Reverberation Machine In this crazy world of effects pedals, Death By Audio has been coming out with rad pedal after rad pedal for some time, and we here at Pedal of the Day enjoy each and every one of their creations that comes our way. Today, we’re going to explore their take on Reverb, a much-loved and oft-used effect that can be beautiful, daring, unpredictable and soothing all at the same time. The Reverberation Machine features a some regular reverb sounds and controls, some new ones, too, and a whole lot of gorgeous tones that will fit with any rig.

The Volume control knob does what it should, and is always nice to have on any reverb pedal. Altitude is a cool addition, as it adds some always-welcome gain to the reverberated signal, pushing this pedal (and your amp) into gorgeous drive territory, providing a warm, tube-like gain. Reverb Blend lets you mix the wet and dry signals, of course, but on the Reverberation Machine, it goes a step further: here, you can crank the wet signal up to 125%! There’s also a toggle present to swap between Bright Sunshine and Dark Star modes, essentially acting as a fixed EQ that boosts either the low end or the higher frequencies.

The Gain section is especially fun, as it is on another Death By Audio pedal (and one of our personal favorites of all time), the Echo Dream 2. Replacing the delay there with reverb here, you’re able to coax out some incredibly useable and fun solo/lead tones with ease, adding a hint of both dirt and ambience in one fluid motion. Fans of 2-in-1 pedals are gonna dig this feature, and it makes for great times during practice, rehearsals, studio settings and on stage, too.

Great not only on guitar, but other instruments as well, there’s not a lot this black and gray beat won’t be able to accomplish in the reverb department. Stat tuned for more Death By Audio effects’ reviews coming in the (hopefully) near future, as we can’t wait to get our hands on more and more of their inspirational and motivational effects pedals. The Reverberation Machine is described as a “synthetic atmosphere creator”, and if that doesn’t summarize this pedal, nothing does.
