Keisman Pedals Midnight Drive (Limited Edition)Today’s featured pedal come to us from a special place: Boone, NC, where we lived for seven years before venturing out West to our now-home in Boise. Our pal Brian is holding down the fort in our small mountain town for us, though, continuing to create some excellent musical gear as Keisman Pedals has been since 2011 in the High Country. Today’s particular gem is a boost/overdrive combo, with tons of tones on tap to enjoy – here is the Midnight Drive.

Combining two of Keisman’s existing pedals, the Midnight Drive instantly becomes a space-saver for your board, while not losing any mojo or power from your carefully-crafted tone. The left side is the Juggy Boost, a simple, one-knob clean boost that will even get a little gritty as you keep turning it up, perfect for adding that sparkle and shine to the front end of a tube amp. This boost also plays really well with other pedals, either in front of or behind, for varying sonic results in both loudness and saturation.

The right side of the Midnight Drive is the Velvet Drive, Keisman’s take on the classic 808 drive circuit. This version features less mid-hump than other 808 models, providing a smoother overall sound in any mix. Plus, there’s an added Bass Boost toggle switch, essential for beefing up and fattening your tone when needed. All this, plus some changes to the internal components, character of the clipping and sweep of the knobs, result in a whole new flavor of overdrive.

Keisman Pedals LogoA real 2-In-1 monster, the Midnight Drive will knock your standalone boost right off the pedalboard, never to be seen or heard from again. Plus, this particular model in white is also a Limited Edition, and we’re pretty stoked we got our hands on one of only a few that are being produced. Thanks to our pal Brian Wilde at Keisman Pedals, who we interviewed recently as well (click here for the full interview) – we’re looking forward to seeing how Keisman keeps progressing, and stay tuned for more reviews of their awesome pedals coming soon!
