Ninevolt Pedals Relaxing Walrus DelayContinuing our look at the killer and super-affordable lineup of pedals from our friends at Ninevolt Pedals today, we’ve got a tasty little delay pedal for you all to take a look at. The Relaxing Walrus is a simple, down-to-earth delay pedal, but don’t think for a second that means it doesn’t have a ton of tone on tap. Once again emblazoned with artwork by the fantastic Jonas Claesson, this little blue beauty features some of the warmest echo sounds you’ll find this side of the Pacific Ocean.

At its core, the Relaxing Walrus is a vintage-voiced analog delay, which is one of the most sought-after echo sounds ever created, and this one does it justice, hands down. With delay times ranging from 1ms up to 1250ms, there’s plenty of time for everyone who loves delay. If you use just a little bit on your solos, or if your entire set is drowned in oscillating echoes, you’ll find this pedal to more than suit your sonic needs. Along with the Delay Time knob, Blend lets you mix your wet and dry signals, while Repeats lets you control the echoes, from one to near infinite. There’s also an internal trimpot here, which you can adjust to fine tune the self-oscillation, furthering the options and uses of this small and bold effect.

Ninevolt Pedals LogoThey say the Relaxing Walrus creates the Yamabiko effect, the mystical and spiritual effect of echo found in the valleys and mountains of Japan, and although we’ve never witnessed it in person, we couldn’t agree more. True bypass and 9V power make it a cinch to add to any pedalboard, preserving your original tone, but adding much needed enhancement to your signal. Thanks again to Ninevolt Pedals for this beauty, check out the video below to hear some magical delay sounds, and check back for more reviews of great gear from these guys and gals in the near future.
