GFI System Clockwork Delay v2We had a great time when we reviewed the original version of the Clockwork Delay from GFI System last year, so we were more than stoked to check out the newest model, v2. Building on the incredible first go-round, this next generation pedal takes us into the delay stratosphere, with a ton of presets, tap tempo, stereo input and output, and a whole lot more. Here we go…

The Clockwork v2 offers one standard digital delay mode, as well as six variation delay modes, selectable by a small toggle at the bottom of the pedal. Tape, Lo-Fi, Ambient and Multi-Heads (2, 3 or 4) are the options you have, all of which interact with the Time, Regen and Blend control knobs. The Parameter knob controls a different function depending on what mode you’re in, from modulation to pitch-shifting to tape heads matrix and more.

You can hit both soft footswitchs simultaneously to select between the 2 variation sets, which are indicated by an either Red or Green LED in the upper right corner. This little beast also lets you save up to 8 total presets, 4 in each of the variations (either T, L, A or H2, H3 or H4 mode sets). The Tap Tempo function embraces the left hand soft switch, and is also visually represented by an LED in the upper left corner. You can also incorporate the Time knob to control one of four subdivision options when using the tap tempo function, too, for more versatility than you ever thought a pedal this size was capable of creating.

24-bit signal processing, with an analog dry-thru and clickless footswitches make this a top-of-the-line delay, that provides excellent echo sounds and creations, without coloring your original tone in the slightest. With all the presets, tap tempo capability and both Stereo Inputs and Outputs, this delay will keep up with every idea you can throw at it. Not to mention it packs all of these features into one of the smallest enclosures around, and possibly the smallest that harnesses this many delay options. The folks at GFI System just keep expanding on their incredible creations, and we cannot wait to see what concoctions they come up with next.
