Fuchs Audio Technology Plush Extreme Cream II OverdriveWe recently reviewed and demoed the Plush® Cream II™ Overdrive pedal from our friends at Fuchs Audio Technology, and today we get to see what that pedal is like on steroids. The Extreme Cream II™ takes everything that we love about the smaller version, and then doubles it, giving you two separate pedals in one, and a whole lot of gain to tame (if you’re up to it).

The Extreme Cream II™ gives you not one, but two different channels to work with, each voiced a bit differently for some unique sonic flavoring. Channel A is voiced just like the stock Cream II™ Overdrive, with Channel B having a bit of a warmer tone throughout. Having both of these in the same enclosure lets you set two completely opposite tones, and easily switch between them in a moment’s notice, using the A/B footswitch built into the pedal.

Each channel features the same control layout: Level, Tone and Gain knobs let you adjust each of these functions to taste, making it a cinch to dial in two of the most perfect overdriven sounds you can imagine. There’s a toggle switch for each channel, too, which lets you select between the original Cream’s tonal qualities and a more compressed, lower gain setting, which is similar to the Plush® Drive pedal also created and manufactured by Fuchs Audio Technology. Between these two modes and the three control knobs, there are roughly a gazillion different tonal options waiting for you, and you get to pick two of them to have on hand at any time.

This pedal looks a little complex at first glance, but it’s pretty easy to figure out, and you’ll have so much fun discovering and exploring the little nuances in tone that are hidden inside, and get to give your amp a good old-fashioned rocking at the same time. We’d like to give a special shout-out to Andy, Annette and everyone at Fuchs Audio Technology, who have been such a big supporter of us over the last couple years – they make great pedals, and some incredible amplifiers as well, so please head on over to their site and show ’em some love. We couldn’t do what we do and bring you guys these pedal reviews without companies like theirs, so thanks again to Fuchs!
