The 1305 Drive from Supro takes everything that has always sparkled about their lineup of amps and condenses it into an extremely pedalboard-friendly package. Using an actual output transformer and re-creating the real circuitry of a Supro amp, this groundbreaking analog drive is sure to blow you away.
Emulating a Class-A Supro amp from end to end, the 1305 Drive features the usual controls found in many overdrive pedals: Volume, Tone and Gain. This simple layout gives you everything you need from this pedal, as it is most definitely a plug-and-play piece of gear, but Supro has taken it a couple of steps further. First, there’s a toggle switch that allows you to select between either Rich or Bold modes, each providing different windings of their custom, multi-tapped output transformer, for a slew of differing overdrive tones. In addition, there’s an Expression Pedal input jack, which gives you complete, hands-free control over the Gain parameter, allowing for on-the-fly adjustments to your dirt. There’s even a battery compartment built in to the side of the pedal, so you don’t have to take the whole thing apart to change your battery. How great of an idea is that, and why hasn’t anyone else thought of it before?
You can even set the minimum gain setting via an internal trimmer, giving your sound as much or as little gain as you see fit. The small enclosure size (3.2″ x 3.2″ x 4.9″) and light weight (only 1.1 lbs) make it a perfect fit on any pedalboard as well, especially with the top-mounted jacks and AC power jack. Taking an amp and smashing it into a pedal, without losing any clarity or performance, is a real feat, and Supro has done it to perfection. This little blue menace will light up your amp and your ears, in ways you might not have thought possible.
