Champion Leccy Fat Gett Suboctave FuzzHand made and hand painted pedals just have something special about them – you can really see how much time and effort goes into each creation, and how dedicated those folks making these effects really are. The Fat Gett Suboctave Fuzz is the first pedal from Champion Leccy that we’ve had the chance to check out, and it did not disappoint. A fuzz with an octave twist, this thing will open your eyes and ears instantly, and have you noisily rocking even quicker.

A take on the classic Black Russian Big Muff circuit, the Fat Gett features asymmetrical clipping and that classic Muff-sounding tone stack. The Furz mode is your fuzz channel, featuring Furz (Gain), Girth (Tone and Gut (Volume) controls. There’s also a toggle switch, Podge, which allows you to send the fuzz section into a Mid Boost mode as well.

The Fat Gett adds in some wicked glitchy suboctaveness via a second footswitchable channel as well. Using bits of (and approved by) Midfi Electronics’ Random Number Generator circuit, this Bloat mode gives your signal some more low end beef, but also adds in some random noise splattering and thicker, warmer tones full of texture and richness. Just use the Bloat control knob to blend this channel in with your fuzz channel also selected, and you’ve got an absolute mammoth of a noise maker pedal, ripe for experimentation and discovery.

Champion Leccy LogoNot for the timid or unwilling to explore, the Fat Gett takes your signal and distorts, squishes, re-animates and destroys it all at the same time. Great classic fuzz sounds are easily waiting and ready, and the power to create new and exciting sonic masterpieces is just a click away. Thanks so much Champion Leccy for this rad pedal – all of their effects feature custom, one-off hand painted designs, clear coated, made with quality components and has true bypass switching. In short, these are well-made, great-sounding pieces of gear to add to any collection. Stay tuned for more reviews and demos of their pedals in the near future…
