Anasounds Bitoun FuzzWe love fuzz pedals around here, and the only thing better than a killer fuzz effect is….that’s right, TWO fuzzes in one pedal. The Bitoun is a Doubled Octave Fuzz from our friends in France Anasounds, and while looking seemingly simple from the bare bones control section, this guy is anything but.

Based around the Shin-Ei Superfuzz pedal from the 60’s, the Bitoun Fuzz also incorporates aspects of Anasounds’ own Feed Me Fuzz, for one powerful little machine. While many fuzzes are labeled “dual fuzz” and offer you some sort of toggle or foot switch to select which fuzz side you want to use, the Bitoun id something different: a DOUBLE Fuzz. Here, the two fuzz circuits come together to form one badass mix, one that has two main control parameters you can see, and a couple more surprises hidden inside.

The Left control is called Tea, and it sets your fuzzy output, while on the right side, Biscuit adjusts your tone. These two main controls are accentuated by 5 internal potentiometers, Ring_F, Feed, Bias, Fuzz 1 and Fuzz 2. Fuzz 1 represents the Feed Me side of things, allowing Fuzz 2 to act as the Superfuzz portion of your pedal. Bias mixes silicon and germanium transistors, Ring_F sets the octave part, with more ring modulation-type sounds as it’s increased, and Feed sets the impedance for your guitar’s signal. These 5 are set and delivered at specific points for a well-rounded sound, but are fun to experiment with and tweak if you’re into that sort of thing.

Anasounds LogoAs with all Anasounds pedals, there’s an additional potentiometer inside that lets you adjust the brightness of the Bypass light, which is a great add-on in our opinion. Designed in partnership with French guitarist Julien Bitoun, this fuzz is the result of years of tweaking and experimentation, to be sure they got it just right (which they did). It’s easy to get a great sound right out of the box, but gives you some options and tonal flexibility inside if you’re a super-tweaker (with sound, not meth) and like to create an individual tone that suits your musical needs perfectly. Thanks to Alexandre and the whole Anasounds team for another gem of a pedal – these guys are really crushing it, and if you haven’t seen their other effects, do your self a favor, get to their website NOW and check ’em out.
