Hotone Audio Omni AC Acoustic Simulator

Sometimes during live gigs, especially for all the solo performers out there, you need to make a switch from electric to acoustic at some point, depending on what tunes you’re playing. Now, as cool as it looks to switch out guitars and impress the crowd, wouldn’t it just be easier to step on a pedal and be done with it? The Omni AC Acoustic Simulator from Hotone Audio does just that, taking a step out of your performance ritual and maybe even letting you have time to squeeze another song or two into the festivities. This one is worth checking out, folks…

Designed for both electric AND acoustic instruments, the Omni AC is compact yet powerful, delivering precise, organic acoustic sounds to any rig. The nice-sized, hi-res OLED screen lets you instantly know where you are in the preset rotation, of which there are 15 for you to create and choose from. You can edit the presets on the fly if need be as well, thanks to an easy-to-use navigation screen buried in the backend of each preset. Sonic options include Steel and Nylon String, Acoustic and Fretless Basses, Mandolin and more, for all your mellow rock needs.

There’s even free software you can use via a USB cable and your desktop computer to adjust tonal settings, update firmware, upload presets and more. The Footswitch is assignable as well, allowing you to use it as Mute, Bypass, Preset +, Preset – and Mode functions, whichever fits your style and setup the best. As far as assignable parameters are concerned, there are a ton of options there, too: Volume, EQ, Low/Mid/High Gain, Frequency and Presence make sure your sound is the best it can be, all accessible at the push of a button.

There’s even an XLR out so you can run it directly into any mixer, perfect for live and studio use alike, as well as a Lift/Gnd switch AND an Aux In/Headphone Out for practicing and jamming. We used an electric guitar for the demo below, to show how well the Omni AC adapts to electric instruments, but it works wonders as an always-on tone shaper for acoustic instruments as well. Small but big, tame but fierce, the Omni AC Acoustic Simulator brings a whole new dimension to your sound, and will emphasize and expand your rig in ways you never knew were possible. Check out the Hotone Audio website for more details, and don’t forget to subscribe to us on YouTube after you watch the demo!
