Crazy Tube Circuits Splash Mk4 Reverb

We just fell in love with the wild modulation, wicked delay and gorgeous reverb found in the Crazy Tube Circuits Sidekick when we recently demoed it, and are excited to delve into one particular aspect of that pedal today. The Splash Mk4 Reverb takes elements from said Sidekick, as well as the last version, the Splash mk3, plus adds in a couple new ones for your ambient enjoyment. So much fun in such a small box, we’ll never know how these guys keep doing it…

Eight different reverb algorithms adorn the Splash Mk4, and they are as follows:

Algorithm I: The “Exciter” – From a touch of ambience to spacious pad effect, especially on extreme settings. Taken from Splash mk3 with a small twist for extra decay.
Algorithm II: Moderate-sized reverb – From a spring style reverb up to room and hall. Taken from Splash mk3. Medium decay.
Algorithm III: Large reverb – From hall to ambience. Taken from Splash mk3 with a small twist for extra decay.
Algorithm IV: Plate-style reverb – Taken from Sidekick. Medium decay.
Algorithm V: Shimmer – High-pitched harmonics ambience. Taken from Sidekick with a small twist for extra decay.
Algorithm VI: Modulated I – faster spinning – extra long decay.
Algorithm VII: Modulated II – fuller sounding, long to infinite decay.
Algorithm VIII: Flanged Freeze reverb, short to infinite decay.

You get extra flexibility for controlling the Decay (length of the reverb tail) and Excite (differing functionality for each algorithm, see demo below) parameters on all algorithms via an external expression pedal, and/or the on-board XF footswitch, thus creating the ultimate ambient tones. The Dry signal on the Splash Mk4 is still 100% all analog, and all the mixing and filtering of the wet signal is also in the analog domain, to get the best of both worlds. There are internal switches as well to set Kill Dry, Expression Pedal assignment and Bypass functionality. There’s a ton packed into this little blue beast, and we loved every second of making the demo below, so please enjoy.
