Summer School Electronics The Bootster Booster

Over the course of the last few months, we’ve become more and more familiar with the excellent line of effects pedals coming from Summer School Electronics. From overdrive (Gladys) to fuzz (Stone Thrower) to delay (Snow Day), these hand-built machines just keep getting better and better with each new release. Today, we switch it up yet again and bring you The Bootster Booster, a volume and treble boost in one…

The Bootster Booster is the secret weapon every guitar rig needs. Sometimes your guitar needs be louder, or hit a drive pedal harder. Sometimes you signal needs to be brighter to cut through for a lead without adding volume throwing off the mix. And sometimes you need both. The Bootster Booster is a versatile tool for your rig that can be left always on to sculpt tone, or switched on and off to accentuate your signal when need.

With the Volume at maximum, and the Twang at a minimum, the Boost knob functions as a standard volume boost that can be placed before a drive to push it harder, or at the end of a chain to raise your signal going into an amp. By increasing the Twang knob, upper mid/high frequencies will be increased making the signal brighter. By incorporating the boost and volume, you can maintain unity volume, or add volume to the treble boost. And by adjusting the Boost and Twang knobs, a bright sparkle can be added to a guitar signal, and the Volume can be adjusted to maintain unity or add a volume boost.

There’s a lot of tone-sculpting ability in this seemingly simple three-knob unit, to say the least. Crafted with precision and care, this could be the essential pedal you never knew you needed. We love what our buddy Mark Turley is doing up in Syracuse, NY, and can’t wait for the next effect from the Northeast. Be sure to visit the SSE website for more info on The Bootster Booster and ALL of their pedals, and don’t forget to check out our YouTube channel for more and more Summer School Electronics demos. Cheers!!
