I’ve always loved the looks and unique tones created by Spaceman Effects, and today we’re gonna showcase their lastest creation, our first of theirs in over two years. The Atlas IV: Preamp Booster make seem simple on the outside, with just one big knob and two small toggles, but there’s a ton going on under the hood here. This is one of those pedals that makes your amp instantly come to life as soon as you turn it on, becoming a part of our revised demo pedalboard almost immediately…

The Atlas IV is a booster, a pre-amp and a tone enhancer. With a natural tone and wide dynamic response, it adds extra dimension to your existing tone, without compromise. While classified as a “clean boost”, the Atlas IV offers two levels of harmonic enhancement, adding richness and sparkle with up to 15db of boost power. This is the next generation of the highly regarded Atlas III: Preamp Booster which has been out of production for several years.

While retaining the same voice and subtle magic that the original is known for, Spaceman has now added two additional modes (Thrust and Axis) – making this pedal more powerful than ever. Use the Atlas IV to transform your tube amp, set at the edge of breakup, into glorious overdrive. Kick it on to enliven a solo or up the ante of a bridge. In the studio, the Atlas IV is the ultimate recording tool, by slamming the front end of tube amps for legendary distortion tones. Use it to shape other dirt pedals, unlocking new sonic textures and expanding creative possibilities.

Fully soldered and wired by hand in Portland, Oregon, the Atlas IV: Preamp Booster features true-bypass switching via soft-click footswitch. On top of the cast-aluminum enclosure sits a durable, engraved vinyl faceplate and jewel indicator light.
