After checking out their ODR-mini Natural Overdrive, DEL-mini Delay and ODR-mini2 pedals, I couldn’t wait to see what pint-sized creation Nobels would come up with next. Well, the answer comes to us all in the form of the small but amazing CHO-mini Stereo Chorus and Flanger. This modulated beauty provides a nice stereo spectrum sweep, along with three modes of operation that will satisfy the most staunch chorus and flanger fans out there…

The pocket-sized and featured packed Nobels CHO-mini delivers an outstanding selection of chorus tones at a budget-friendly price. With a heritage of building chorus units, Nobels has engineered this new pedal to offer maximum versatility, in a super compact package. Providing a selection of 3 curated timeless chorus effects, the CHO-mini delivers a wealth of sonic possibilities in either mono or spacious stereo image. The realized tones are far beyond the pedal’s modest footprint and is an excellent addition to any pedal board.
The CHO-mini features three carefully curated, yet distinct chorus flavors. All three modes faithfully capture those iconic modulation tones that have shaped music across genres, past and present and are simply selected by the pedal’s convenient mode switch, right on the face of the pedal.
Chorus 1: This emulates the coveted and well-established bucket-brigade style of chorus pedal tones from the 70s. You know “THAT” Chorus sound that is instantly recognizable from many popular recordings.
Chorus 2: Based on a different flavor of stereo chorus, “Chorus 2” allows for a higher rate towards the end of the control range, enabling pleasing vibrato-like textures.
Flanging: While not a flanger tone in a traditional sense, this mode emulates another extremely popular (and rare and expensive in its original form) chorus pedal from the 70s, in its subtle flanging mode. Think of this as a comb-filter phasing of the signal (like feedback on a delay), focussing on its luscious general character and without becoming too extreme.
Able to run in both Mono and Stereo (with a Y cable), as well as True or Buffered Bypass, the CHO-mini Stereo Chorus conjures up a whole lotta tone in a small package. Fitting seamlessly into rigs of ANY size, this crimson gem combines vintage and modern sounds, to push the sonic envelope in your modulation section. Thanks once again to our friends at Osiamo Music Gear for sending this one our way – be sure to visit their site and grab a couple pedals, visit the Nobels site for more info, and don’t forget to check out our demo on YT – cheers!!
