Today, we’re checking out our third pedal in the current lineup from Awestruck Amplification, a boutique builder out of Michigan. The last pedal (for now) from this company is the Metro Organic Overdrive, a bright and vibrant effect both in sonic tone and aesthetics. With a couple of toggle switches to shape your sound, and a bunch of drive on tap, you’re not gonna want to sleep on this colorful creation…

Inspired by the “transparent” overdrive movement of Paul Cochrane, the Metro is a mid-gain, op-amp based overdrive, intended to bring out all the richness and depth of your amp(s) with little to no coloration. Of course, if you want some added flavor – this overdrive has got you covered. With an added clipping toggle and mid-eq contour, the Metro can also take on a personality of its own and give your amp(s) some additional character. Designed with the intention of being the ultimate always-on overdrive pedal, it provides plenty of gain, plus added options (courtesy of the Diode and Mids toggle switches) and flexibility – this may just be the last drive you buy!

The Metro Organic Overdrive fits into any pedalboard or audio setup you’ve got – the range of tones makes it a perfect pedal for live sound, band practice and the recording studio alike, with no shortage of musical applications. Handmade by a builder with a soldering iron and a dream, these pedals are well-built, using top quality components, including Alpha potentiometers, WIMA capacitors, & Royal Ohm resistors.
