Berserker Electronics Dead Zone Low Fidelity Filter 1

After checking out the Aquanaut Delay/Echo and the Velcrow Gated Fuzz pedals from Berserker Electronics, I couldn’t wait to see what they came up with next. I’m excited to help bring their latest creation to the world – this is the Dead Zone Low Fidelity Filter, an homage to a now-classic effect from days gone by that acts like a radio signal broadcaster for your guitar tone…don’t worry, you’ll see what I mean here in just a minute…

The Ibanez LF7 Lo-Fi Filter was never supposed to be a legend. On paper, it was a simple tool. In practice, it became a cult favorite because it could shrink a guitar’s world into something smaller, rougher, and more haunting. It didn’t just EQ a signal…it reshaped the bandwidth, pushed a gritty, radio-forward midrange, and added a texture that instantly felt like a vintage recording. The Dead Zone is Berserker Electronics’ evolution of that circuit.

Voiced as a dedicated AM/M radio simulator, it makes your rig feel like it’s being broadcast, received, and slightly corrupted in real time. It delivers everything from between-station grit and bandwidth-limited punch to that unmistakable “found audio” midrange. Even at its messiest, Dead Zone stays tight and percussive. It delivers a dry “small amp” distortion that sounds less like a pedal and more like a piece of gear failing…in the best way possible.

Set the Gain low, and you get instant “found footage” vibes, too, like your tone was recorded to tape, duplicated three times, and then aired at midnight. Dead Zone is a dedicated vibe weapon. Dead Zone is NOT here to sweeten your tone. It’s here to put it on the air. Our demo shows off the solo skills of the Dead Zone Low Fidelity Filter, as well as how it can sound with delay, a preamp, and more, creating a true cornucopia of sonic exploration and delight. Visit the Berserker Electronics website to snag one for yourself, and to get all the info on this and their other marvelous creations…cheers!!
