I’m excited to team up with the crew from PEDALXCHANGE.com once again for today’s unique, wonderful pedal. The BSRI Audio Hydrazine Harmonic Percolator Fuzz is a modern take on a rare circuit, one that will drive your tone to new sonic heights with ease. Crunch, dirt, boost, fuzziness, breakup – this black and gold beauty has got it all…
Hydrazine is a modern interpretation of the Interfax Harmonic Percolator with updates to give players a wider range of tones and textures. The core amplifier circuit has been modified for improved clarity and punch with period-correct NOS germanium and silicon transistors and germanium diodes. The active tone stack provides ample range in the bass and treble frequencies for shaping the distorted tone to meet the needs of both guitar and bass players. Finally, a unique Texture controls allows for continuous adjustment of the clipping threshold for a wide range of tones between transistor overdrive and compressed full diode clipping distortion.
The Hydrazine also has that harmonic beautiful clang with a bit more clarity. It ranges from overdrive to heavily clipped distortion, while being its own entire sound. The addition of the EQ section really opens things up, allowing you to fit these wild sounds perfectly into any rig or studio session. It works well with clean and dirty amps, too, fitting into that “experimenter’s dream” category with no problem.
The sounds that pour out of the BSRI Audio Hydrazine Harmonic Percolator Fuzz are big, bold, loud, and will push your amp to its very limits. Sure, you can set it to lower gain, but where’s the fun in that? Just crank it up and let it rip, and you won’t be disappointed. Thanks so much to our friends at PEDALXCHANGE.com for sending this one over for me to check out – be sure to head to their website and sign up, and visit the BSRI Audio site for more info and pedals from those guys as well. Don’t forget to check out our demo video, you don’t want to miss this one!! Cheers!!
