Today, we’re taking a look at a classic circuit, from one of our favorite pedal companies from the last few years. The Berserker Electronics Autopilot TS10 Overdrive brings a vintage sound into the modern era, complete with a couple new additions to a sound a lot of us have been chasing for years. Though this particular tube screamer model might not be the most recognized, after checking out this pedal, it might just become your favorite…

The Autopilot is Berserker’s take on one of the most iconic overdrives of all time: the Ibanez TS10. You know it. You’ve heard it on records whether you realized it or not. And yeah, there’s a reason it stuck around this long. At its core, the Autopilot is a faithful TS10-style overdrive, built around a socketed JRC4558 and original 1S1588 clipping diodes, for the feel, response, and character that made the original so loved. It delivers that familiar mid-forward push, natural compression, and tight attack that works so well into a clean amp, a dirty amp, or stacked with other drives.

The Bass control expands the range of what this circuit can do without losing its roots. At minimum, the Bass control is the original TS10 voicing. As you turn it up, more 100Hz is added back into the signal, filling out the low end and giving the pedal a bigger, fuller response. Whether you want the classic tight Tube Screamer-style push or a thicker, weightier overdrive that hits harder, the Bass control lets you dial it in. There’s also an internal switch that lets you choose between standard overdrive mode and a clean boost mode, giving the Autopilot even more flexibility depending on how you want to use it. And with plenty of Volume and Gain on tap, this one will fit in with any pedalboard.
