Sometimes, I open a new pedal box not knowing what lurks inside, and find a piece of gear that blows me away, initially, without ever plugging it in. Such is the case today with the simply stunning M2 Labs Fuzzocalypse Analog Chaos Injector, a fuzz like none I’ve come across yet. Following in the footsteps of The Bomber Overdrive, this unit features simple controls, a huge range of sounds, an added crazy chaotic mode and a gorgeous VU meter – this beast looks and sounds downright rad…
Chaos has arrived. The Fuzzocalypse represents M2 Labs’ most uncompromising design to date, an analog fuzz pedal built without limitations, without compromise, and without apologies. At its heart sits a true two-transistor silicon fuzz core, built around hand-matched NOS silicon transistors in the lineage of the nastiest fuzz boxes of the late ’60s. No clipping diodes faking it, no digital anything.
The Fuzz control works the transistor pair directly, the way the old circuits did, so it cleans up off your guitar’s volume knob like a fuzz is supposed to. From there, the signal hits a low-noise recovery stage and an active tone circuit running on internally boosted power rails, well beyond what a 9V battery gives you. All the chaos of a vintage fuzz, with the headroom and output drive to actually push a pedalboard, a long cable run, or the front of a cranked amp without folding over.
At the center sits an industrial-grade analog panel meter. This isn’t decorative. It’s a genuine precision instrument built for professional applications, now repurposed to measure your destruction. The aluminum alloy pointer tracks your signal in real time with industrial accuracy. When you’re pushing the Fuzzocalypse hard, you’ll see it. Centered above the gauge sits a small black switch. Switched off, you’re running the pedal’s core voice, vintage fuzz the way it was meant to sound. Flip it on and you enter Chaos Mode. This is where M2 Labs removed every guardrail and safety measure. Want legitimate noise? Pure sonic destruction? It’s yours. The Fuzzocalypse doesn’t judge.
The Fuzzocalypse Analog Chaos Injector was designed for players who want access to everything from vintage fuzz tones to complete signal obliteration. Whether you’re chasing controlled sustain or pure textural chaos, this handcrafted boutique fuzz pedal delivers without limitation. I always love when something new from M2 Labs shows up – be sure to head to their website for more info and to order a Fuzzocalypse for yourself! We have got a pretty rad demo video over on YouTube, too, don’t miss it!!
