Klowra KBS-04 Vein Stereo Polyphonic Pitch Shifter

Over the last year, I’ve had the opportunity to review and demo some pedals from Klowra, a brand that focuses on making effects affordable, but without sacrificing any quality. In fact, these pedals have been packed with more features and options than units costing three times as much, and they sound great. Today, we’re taking a look at the Vein Stereo Polyphonic Pitch Shifter, a device that opens up all the doors of perception, taking on a musical journey the likes of which you may not have yet encountered…

The Klowra Vein is the ultimate pitch shifter that fulfills every sonic demand you can imagine. Operating on an industry-lowest 8ms ultra-low latency polyphonic tracking algorithm, the Vein delivers the ultimate playing feel and near-zero hesitation. Even when facing algorithm-punishing pinch harmonics, it flawlessly preserves your instrument’s original attack and dynamics. More importantly, it seamlessly integrates four core studio effects—Harmony, Pitch Shifter, Detune, and Glide/Ramp—into a single footprint. To conquer the complex and unforgiving demands of modern playing environments, we purpose-built two completely independent pitch-tracking algorithms, engineered to precisely respond to your most extreme sonic requirements.

Armed with independent Attack/Release controls and a dedicated Ramp function, a single footswitch allows you to freely navigate across a massive 17-interval, +/- 2 octave range. Whether it’s major-second virtual hammer-ons, high-tension Whammy-style bends, devastating instant drop-tunes, or seamless dual-preset interval switching spanning 4 octaves, this versatile architecture completely eradicates the nightmare of hauling multiple guitars to a gig. The Vein conceals a powerful Harmony system, unlocking up to 16 crushing interval permutations between your primary pitch and the harmony. Blended with the pure analog dry signal, it instantly constructs a massively oppressive, three-voice wall of sound. To further tear apart your spatial boundaries, the integrated LFO modulation coupled with the Detune function enables the microtonal true stereo engine to flawlessly simulate Automatic Double Tracking (ADT), injecting dimension-warping vibrato dynamics.

From subtle studio widening to chaotic, dimension-warping pitch destruction, the Klowra Vein doesn’t just shift your tone. It redefines your sonic identity, with features like Analog Dry-Through, selectable True Bypass/Buffered Bypass, and an independent dry-signal output. Everything so far from our friends at Klowra has been impressive…MOST impressive, if you will, and we’ve got a lot more pedals on the way from these guys, so stay tuned!! Don’t forget to head to the Klowra website, too, and if you’d like to pick up a couple of their pedals, help support us and visit this Amazon link – cheers!!
