Chase Bliss Bad Mood Ambient Mischief

So far, the pedals in the Small Batch Bliss Series from our friends over at Chase Bliss have been, as you might expect, nothing short of fantastic. Today, following in the footsteps of the Reverse Mode C and the Lost + Found, the third release in this series comes in the form of the Bad Mood Ambient Mischief, a wildy organic, brooding, unpredictable and adventurous creation that once again tests all you think you know about musical creation and possibility. Six knobs, three toggles, two footswitches, 2 presets and a whole lot of famous Dipswitch customization provide a sonic journey that will reshape and enlighten the way you approach making music…lots to dive into here, let’s get to it!

BAD MOOD is a romping return to the two-channel “instant bliss” workflow found in MOOD MKII, a batch of big new moods that explore the wild side of ambience. Explore musical disguises, radio loops, and splintered harmonies, with two stereo channels that can interact and interfere with each other. It’s noisy, and improper, and it’s going to get you in trouble. You can store 2 on-board presets, or access up to 122 via MIDI, and the signature Chase Bliss Dipswitches allow you to go further and access alternate behaviors, internal modulation, and advanced customization, to get things just right for your setup.

Use the Micro-Looper side to capture and loop musical fragments instantly, and build from there if you please. Turn loops into sequences, create musical disguises and scan the radio waves. Use the Wet channel to process the micro-looper, your input, or both, with a crooked collection of live effects: synthetic reverb, echoes that don’t fade and splintered harmonies. The magical Clock knob controls the sample rate of both channels at once, shifting everything in harmonized steps. It’s tone, length and quality all in one.
