I’m pretty sure I’ve had the pleasure of demoing every effect creation that’s come from Heather Brown Electronicals, and I’m so stoked to have another one for you all today. Her latest is the WET Fuzz, a non-frills, balls-to-the-wall small box of distorted glory that’s just waiting to be unleashed onto your unsuspecting family and neighbors. Crank this one up, dial it back, mix in some other pedals – the sky’s the limit here, and the journey to get there is a whole lotta fun…
WET is a fuzz based on the Russian Bubble Font Big Muff – quite a drippy combination of BC547A Fairchild Transistors, 1N4739 Zener, & 1N4148 Silicon Diodes. The controls are about as easy as it gets, too: Volume increases or decreases the output level, Tone shapes the brightness or darkness of the effect, and Sustain decides how grungy and dirty you want the fuzz to be.
You get:
• Low-noise floor
• Selectable true/buffered bypass
(Hold foot switch to select. Slow LED pulse = buffered. Fast LED flash = true bypass)
• Silent soft-touch switching
• 100% analog signal path
• Standard +9V DC
Big Muff fans are of course going to dig the WET Fuzz, but it works in so many different contexts, that even the most staunch fuzz-haters out there (the crazies) will probably think it sounds pretty damn rad. The demo I did showcases the range this pedal has as well, plus I mixed in some more effects, as I tend to do, and the mash-ups sound incredible. Thanks once again to Heather for sending me yet another of her imaginative devices – happy to help promote this one, as usual!! Get over to the Heather Brown Electronicals website to order one, after you check out the demo, of course…cheers!!
