Homenoise Effects Deep Space Dual Digital DelayWe love a good delay around here, analog OR digital, and there’s only one thing better than having a pedal with one delay, right….? One that has TWO delays! The Deep Space is a dual digital delay from Homenoise Effects, and it features not only two separate echo circuits, but a couple of tasty options that will make it a must-have for anyone who loves clean, crisp and sometimes out-of-this-world delay tones. Lots to explore, let’s dive right in!

Delay A and Delay B are similar in layout, as they both feature a slider to set the delay time (from 40ms up to about 320ms, more on that in a minute), a Feedback knob to control the number of repeats and a Mix knob to individually set the volume for each side. The Feedback knobs are wicked rad, getting into some crazy self-oscillation territory when cranked up past 3:00 or so, creating otherworldly echos and sonic adventures. Using an expression pedal, you can control the length of time for Delay A, getting into wild echo sweeps and allowing you to set the tempo on the fly.

You can rearrange the circuits as well, with the arrows control knob. To the left, the delays are in parallel; to the right, in series. The ability to blend these two together is fairly unique, and again produces some original delay sounds. The Trans knob works in conjunction with the arrows parameter, setting the amount of the signal sent from Delay A to Delay B. Finally, a Lo-Fi footswitch, when activated, increases the range of Delay B, from 650ms to 1 full second, adding another dimension and more echoed layers on top of your tone, for hours and days of exploration and intrigue.

Homenoise Effects LogoLike we said, two delays are more fun than one, and there’s nothing but fun to be had with the Deep Space Dual Digital Delay. Lower settings will result in cavernous but quick slap back types of echoes, while moving the sliders up the ladder gets gradually more and more intense, especially when the Lo-Fi function is engaged. And if you pull the trigger on this fella, be sure you have an expression pedal lying around, or find one ASAP – it opens up the pedal in so many ways, we think it’s a must-have to fully utilize all the Deep Space can do.
