Multi-delay effects are some of our favorites, as they can range and vary from mode to mode, opening up so many auditory possibilities, and truly expanding your palette to reveal new musical thoughts and ideas. The Time Warp from CNZ Audio is a delay with many modes, stereo connections and a price point that will blow your mind. Don’t have $400 to spend on the latest trendy piece of gear? Well, look no further than this monster of an echo effect….
Right off the bat, you’ll notice the 11 different delay modes you can choose from with the Time Warp: Pure, Analog, Tape, Modulated, LoFi, Reverse, Reverse Tape, Pitch Shift, Tremolo, Tube and Ping Pong. If you can’t find a good sound within one of these modes, you’re doing something wrong. The majority of us can find MULTIPLE uses in MULTIPLE modes, with a range of sounds so vast that it will takes weeks, perhaps longer, to dial in exactly what you want to use it for.
In other news, Time sets the speed of the delay (which can also be set via the Tap footswitch), Feedback controls the number of repeats, the Mix knob blends the delay and your dry signal and FX adjusts the amount of the effect that is present. Hold down the Tap/Hold/Mute footswitch to swap between the three modes, with Hold activating the hidden Looper feature, which presents another eye-opening option to this sneakily-awesome overall effects pedal.
Boasting Stereo In and Outs as well, the Time Warp has all the options that the big boy delay pedal have, but at a fraction of the price. Not skimping anywhere, either, the slim body has a solid build, the jacks are strong and the switches are firm. Before you take out a second mortgage on your house, or get a second job, to buy the latest and greatest in the effects world, we suggest taking this puppy for a spin and let it speak for itself.
