Keyztone EXchanger Pickup Remodeler

Today’s pedal features a revolutionary new design, aimed at giving you virtually ANY pickup sound you desire. The EXchanger from Keyztone is a pickup remodeler, which means you can instantly switch between 8 pickup flavored options, no matter what equipment you have installed on your guitar. Their patented analogic technology brings the ability to change your pickup tone just in seconds, transforming your single coil into a P90, a humbucker or any other single coil (and it works just perfectly with humbuckers, too).

Want to know how a different pickup or set would sound with your instrument, but don’t want to rewire 8 different sets of pickups? Let the EXchanger give you a glimpse into all your guitar is capable of producing, by choosing from these pickup tones:

The Classic Single Coil, Hot Texas: Clean, twangy, cutting, bell-like in the bridge, throaty and round in the neck

The Vintage Single Coil, Bright Vintage: Glassy, classic sparkling highs with some high-end sizzle

The Famous and Punchy P90: Thick, slightly gritty with serious midrange presence, reasonable high end response

The Special Hollowbody Humbucker, The Rockability: Bright, recessed mids and firm lows

The Powerful Humbucker, Modern Power: High output and aggressive humbucker with enhanced attack and low midrange presence

The Classic Humbucker, Classic 50th: Bold, warm, round, creamy and smooth

The Versatile Humbucker, Wide Range: Thick, harmonically rich, well balanced, powerful and appealing high end

The Piezo Special, Supa’Clean: Well defined, recessed low mid with present low end, bright with sparkling highs

The Pickup Adjust knob lets you set the bandwidth and compensate for any high-end losses in your pickups as well – lower numbers produce a darker sound, and higher numbers result in some brighter, punchier tones. The lower numbers work well with single coils, too, and humbuckers tend to lean more to the higher numbers, but experimentation is key here, and absolutely encouraged. Use the Level section to compensate the output level of your pickup and to match the voicings levels, boosting or reducing the presets’ output levels as you wish.

“But I already have the perfect pickup set in my guitar” you say….well, the EXchanger allows you to enjoy the possibility to multiply its tonal characteristics, then. By increasing the dynamic response of a pickup, you can eliminate any signal chain losses caused by cables, potentiometers and mostly eddy currents induced in pickups materials. If you don’t believe us, check out the demo below for a sampling of the tonal prowess you get with the EXchanger. With the ever-increasing size of pedalboards these days, this is an effect that fits in with any setup, and gives you a wide spectrum of tones to increase your sonic ability and presence. Cheers to the Keyztone crew for a truly innovative pedal – head over here to grab yours today!
