TC Electronic JUNE-60 Chorus

At first glance, the JUNE-60 Chorus pedal from TC Electronic appears to be a piece of gear send back in time from the future. In fact, it represents the PAST, as it is a faithful recreation of the lush chorus circuit found in the legendary Roland Juno-60 Synthesizer. Upon seeing pictures of this vintage machine, you can easily see where the inspiration and aesthetics for the JUNE-60 came from. Paying homage to a classic polyphonic synth that was introduced in 1982, and was featured on much of the popular music created throughout that decade, the JUNE-60 is a simple but tasteful chorus pedal, with just a few controls and a ton of nostalgia.

The main knob controls the…wait, there aren’t any knobs? That’s right, folks: TC Electronic took their recreation one step further, and implemented the same yellow buttons found on the Juno-60 into the JUNE-60. Simply labeled I and II, each button boasts a different sonic flavor and choral output. Button I is a slow-moving, rich chorus, while Button II’s chorus is faster and more wobbly, for a thick and funky tone. Turn them both on at the same time, and you get an impressive dual chorus sound, for a bold, powerful chorus that will send your audience straight back to the mid-80’s. You can also run the JUNE-60 in Mono or, with the help of a TRS splitter cable, in Stereo, for sweeping, deep, ambient and pulsating tones that wrap around your ears like a neon headband.

The JUNE-60 Chorus also implores authentic Bucket Brigade technology in its delay circuit, for an all-analog signal whose warmth you just can’t get with digital effects. The top-mounted jacks make it a cinch to fit onto any pedalboard, and the true bypass wiring ensures that your clean sound remains in tact when the chorus is not in use. Sometimes, the simpler the better when it comes to pedals, and the JUNE-60 from TC Electronic is a prime example of this working to perfection. Cheers to those guys for a wonderful reimagining of a fantastic chorus sound – head over to their website for more details and more pedals, and be sure to check out our (stereo) demo video below to hear this lush wonder in action!

Update 9/26/21: TC Electronic have released V2 of this incredible chorus! This new version features an updated circuit design, improved true-stereo output and a newly-reworked combo Preset III. You can set the LFO Speed (Slow or Fast) for Preset I and II, and there’s an option to select your Input mode, either Guitar or Keys. The BBD circuit remains classic, and the vintage tones sound even better this go-round. Enjoy our demo below!!
