Based on the rare Univox UD50 Uni-Drive, The Breakdown™ Boost Overdrive uses three 2N3904 silicon transistors, giving you a whopping +35dB of gain on tap. Volume sets the output level, working on conjunction with the 6-way rotary Break-Up switch, as the gain gets higher (and louder) with each click of the knob. Modes 1-3 are meant to be always-on settings, with lower gain but still retaining that tone that you want out of a boost. Modes 4-6 offer higher gain exploration, letting you really drive your amps, sometimes into new territory you might not had previously known even existed.
