Pedal companies that make mostly one-offs are an exciting bunch – you never know what you’re going to get, or when, but you know it’s bound to be pretty unique and intriguing. Such is the case with the company and pedal for today, the Lefa Pedals Destroy The Day Lofi Delay Fuzz Distortion. Coming to us from the great Northwest in the US via Seattle, these guys made this special effect just for us here at Pedal of the Day, and we couldn’t be happier with the result. If you like delay, fuzz, noise, ambience and raunch, then this is a pedal you’ll really dig…
In classic one-off fashion, the control knobs are labeled with my last name, making it a TRULY unique effect that will forever belong only to me. The Left side features the delay portion, with B controlling the volume, E setting the delay time and R letting you adjust the feedback. This side is a nice, warm, inviting delay, and it’s so soothing that you’d never suspect what’s gonna happen when you engage the switch on the right.
Suddenly, you’re catapulted into a fuzzy, distorted, noise-infused hurricane, and with the delay trails on the end of it, beautiful chaos and panic immediately ensues. N controls the distortion volume, while D & T are voltage controllers for the first and second transistors, respectively. The lone toggle switch allows you to run the delay or the distortion either first or second in the chain, with each mode bringing with it some exploratory sounds. To top it all off, a middle switch lets you vault both effect’s feedback into the stratosphere, producing loud bursts of sonic bliss instantly.
Needless to say, we’re quite proud of this creation, and the fact that it’s the only one in existence makes it that much cooler.
