Tonetuga FX Delphine Delay

We’ve got another delay pedal for you guys today, but this one is a wee bit different. The Tonetuga FX Delphine Delay features two independent delay circuits with mirrored parameters, letting you mix and match and overlap the echo sounds to your heart’s content. With a whole lot of vintage going on, and all the warm delay (with a bit of grit) you can handle, this one is gonna be fun…

Delphine is a dual modulated tape delay that simulates the classic echo machines of old. The two independent circuits can be used separately or together, opening up a wide sonic soundscape for you to play with and explore. Each circuit features the same parameters, and they only apply to said circuit when it is activated. Mix blends your wet and dry signals, Time adjusts your delay time and Echo controls the number of repeats. These basic delay controls get your foot in the door for the Delphine, but what comes next is really the bread and butter of this pedal.

Using the Chop and Wave knobs, you get to add in a little modulation to your echoes. The effect produced here is undulating, reminiscent of the “Wow & Flutter” that putting stress on the tape from the tape heads would induce on the vintage units. What’s more, you can turn the Time controls down to get a mainly-chorus effect, to fatten up your dry signal with overlapping choruses set on each channel. There’s a preamp boost control for each circuit as well, which adds up to +10dB of legendary preamp boost to either side of the equation, adding to the authentic nature and sound of this pedal.

We love that the repeats coming from the Tonetuga FX Delphine Delay are a bit dirty, too, allowing a bit of noise to interact and give you that true sound of those wonderful decades-old machines. Easily going from slap back to organic echo to ambient bliss, this one is ripe for all you knob-turners and enthusiasts out there. If you don’t believe us, just have a listen and look at our demo video below, then go from there. We’re stoked to finally have Tonetuga FX as a collaborator, so stay tuned for more gear from them coming up in the near future. We hope this finds you all well, safe and healthy, have a great weekend!
