Teisco Delay

Despite the somewhat pedestrian naming of their effects, Teisco has seen a real rise in popularity over the last few years, especially in their pedals division. We have recently had the chance to check out the Overdrive, Distortion and Boost pedals of theirs, and today we have another that’s a tad difficult to figure out, due to the name. Delay. Just Delay. It fits, though, as this particular effect is a wonderful delay, so it’s not just a clever name.

The Teisco Delay is a 100% analog delay with bucket brigade tech and rich, intense modulation. The dark repeats, the wild feedback – this one has ANALOG tattooed on its brain. The self-oscillation that comes from the Feedback knob is classic BBD tonality, and the addition of Rate and Depth controls for the modulation make it easy to dial in your favorite sounds.

There’s a Slow/Fast switch as well, which sets two different ranges for the speed of the modulation. The Delay Time goes from 40ms up to 600ms, and there’s even a Direct Out jack, letting you easily run a Wet/Dry setup if need be. The modulation section also features a triangular low-frequency oscillator, creating lush choruses, liquid vibratos, old tape echo emulation and more.

As far as delay pedals go, this is a solid specimen, able to bring that classic, warm delay sound into the modern world with ease. Plus, with recessed screws, removable feet, textured base plate and a premium zinc housing, you know the Tesico Delay is built to stand all the abuse you can throw at it…while you’re in your living room waiting for this Covid malarky to end.
