PedalFarm B-1 Germanium Treble Booster

Our new friends at PedalFarm FX are cranking out some wonderful pedals, and we’ve got another gem for you today. The B-1 is a classic germanium treble booster, but one with some unusual options. Featuring 16 selectable frequency settings, via internal dipswitches, this pedal takes a usually run-of-the-mill effect into an entirely new dimension…

Aside from the giant output Volume knob, the B-1 also boasts a single toggle switch on the front which selects either a high or low frequency range setting, while internal DIP switches give you 8 frequency choices for each setting. The High range covers from 3.2kHz (original Rangemaster frequency) to 1kHz, while the Low frequency settings range from 1.6kHz down to 340Hz. With some overlap in the mid frequencies, the front toggle can be configured for high/low; high/mid; mid/low; or even two slightly different mid frequencies. Here are the settings we used for the demo below:

Every PedalFarm B-1 is hand-built, using high-grade components and detailed craftsmanship, so the quality is never a question. By creating this boost with so many options, they’ve taken a somewhat boring effect and turned it into a wide-ranging, options-filled musical marvel. Finding the right frequencies to boost for your rig and desired sound can make all the difference, and the B-1 Germanium Treble Booster is here to help. Congrats once again to the PedalFarm crew on a wonderful design, layout and, of course, sound. We’ll have more from them on the way, but for now, make sure you check out our demo video below!
