Thermion Zero Dynamic Hybrid Amplifier

In today’s brave new world, filled with digital amp emulators and effects processors, sometimes it’s nice to take it back old school and analog. Today’s “pedal” is actually an amp that fits right onto your pedalboard, and is full of tonal and routing options. The Thermion Zero Dynamic Hybrid Amplifier lets you play live, rehearse or practice at home with just your pedals. Lots to explore, let’s get to it!

Zero was created for those guitarists who love analog and realistic sound, but don’t want to use digital emulators. Thanks to Thermion‘s own Class D hybrid power technology, with two real 40 watt outputs, they’ve reproduced the behavior of a tube amp’s transformers and all of their harmonics. Zero features a clean analog preamp, stereo effects loop, stereo reverb and a preamp loop, so you can switch between its internal preamp and your own. All emulated outputs equip ‘Analog Speaker Modeling’ technology, which recreates the behavior of a real speaker cabinet using only analog circuits, to retain all the dynamics of your tone. The Thermion Zero is the hybrid revolution of simplicity and portability.

With Zero, you get:

– A realistic tube sounding portable amplifier with reverb
– A tool to keep the same tone live, in rehearsals or silently rehearsing in your room
– A solution for any situation, whether you drive a speaker cabinet, a mixer or headphones
– A platform to take full advantage of your stereo effects
– An amplifier that you can easily replace its internal preamp with any other, keeping all its functions and effects

Now, since there are so many controls and tonal options, we decided to cram all that info into our demo video below. Running through every aspect of the Zero, all the details and ins-and-outs of this wonderful machine are discussed and demonstrated, along with some fun musical additions. After playing through this unit, it’s time to re-evaluate our entire setup, and incorporate the Zero into it ASAP. Cheers on a marvelous creation from the entire Thermion team – hopefully we’ll have some pedals of theirs to demo soon, but for now, be sure to check out the demo below!
