Revv Amplification G2 Overdrive

We recently added a new amplifier into our demo mix, the wonderfully and versatile Revv Amplification D20, and we can’t get enough of it. Revv also makes effects pedals, and they sent a couple over for us to check out, starting with the G2 Overdrive. Based on the “Green Channel” from Revv’s Generator amps, this powerhouse provides clear, dynamic, amp-like tone to push your rig where you need it to go.

The “Green Channel” on the amps is crunchy and touch-sensitive, and that’s exactly how the G2 behaves as well. Along with your typical Volume and Gain controls, it features a 3-band EQ, with Bass, Middle and Treble knobs, allowing you to dial in your perfect tone with ease. The sounds here can be a simple clean boost, a tone-enhancment, a sweet drive and even a full but chimey distortion tone, and everything in between.

There’s a toggle switch here as well, which produces three different voicings for you to experiment with. In the Off position, the G2 works as a full-range boost. In the Blue position, you get a touch-sensitive tone with gorgeous musical breakup. The Red mode rounds things out with a classic, fat, amp-like gain sound. You’ll have a blast experimenting with all of these options, finding the best combo of mode and settings to really bring out the best in your setup.

The G2 Overdrive also plays nicely with combo amps, heads, other pedals, in effects loops and with cab modeling, too. The warm tones and dynamic sounds here excite and push your creativity, adding sparkle and presence to any rig or configuration you can throw at it.
