As we continue on with our Flamma Fridays series, we shift gears just a bit this week, from modulation to DIRT. The Flamma Innovation FS06 Digital Preamp provide 7 different preamp flavors to explore, with each one being based on a different well-known amplifier. Covering classic and modern tones alike, this purple-headed warrior has a ton of stuff going on, so let’s jump right in!
The 7 different models you can choose from on the FS06 Digital Preamp emulate some pretty incredible amplifiers:
Model 1 – Deluxe Blue (based on a Fender® Blues Deluxe)
Model 2 – Ac31 (based on a VOX® AC30)
Model 3 – Coral Reef (based on a Two Rock® Coral)
Model 4 – Plex 50 (based on a Marshall® Plexi 50)
Model 5 – Blue Eye 100 (based on a Friedman® BE-100)
Model 6 – MB 5th Gen (based on a Mesa/Boogie® MARK V)
Model 7 – HVE 5151 (based on an EVH® 5150)
Now, as with all amp modelers, the sound isn’t going to be a 100% realistic recreation of the original amp…but these get pretty damn close. Plus, to get all of these actual amps and their tones will cost you about $20,000, give or take – the FS06 costs about 80 bucks. Along with Level and Gain controls, there’s a lovely EQ section for controlling your Treble, Midrange and Bass frequencies. Each models boasts two channels to choose from, along with a saveable preset slot for each preamp as well.
You can even configure the FS06 to use its built-in Cabinet Simulation, to connect directly to a mixer or PA system, should the need arise. Housed in a sturdy shell, this one seems to be built for road wear-and-tear, like the rest of Flamma’s pedals, ensuring years of pristine tonal bliss. We’re having a blast running through the Flamma Innovation lineup of pedals, and the FS06 Digital Preamp was a welcome change from the modulation and delays we had done at the beginning of our series.
