The Fuzz Aldrin, besides having a great name, is a loud, unapologetic beast of a fuzz, with some fun parameters and a whole lot of ear-splitting sonic glory.
The space/astronaut-themed Fuzz Aldrin’s controls don’t have your normal, run-of-the-mill monikers, so let’s dig in and decipher them first. Moving from left to right, Levels starts things off, and sets your output volume. Boosters controls the amount of gain present, of which there’s plenty on tap. The last two controls interact with each other – on the far right, Cosmos sets the amount of the signal that gets fed to the LED/LRD system that modulates the fuzz and propels it past the confines of the known fuzz universe. The Fuel knob provides more Cosmos expression when cranked up, rounding out these parameters.
The Fuzz Aldrin uses a fuzz circuit in conjunction with light to sound tweakability, with your guitar signal triggering a responsive internal LED. This dynamically alters the frequency and resonance of the chainsaw-esque fuzz tone, a perfect match for all you experimentalists and sonic cosmonauts out there.
