Lynx.FX Thundercloud Fuzz

Today’s pedal comes from Łódź, Poland, and brings the fuzzy heat to all of us here in the States. The Lynx.FX Thundercloud Fuzz features four knobs, two toggles switches and a delicious, wide-ranging spectrum of distortion to get your mid-week going in style. The Thundercloud Fuzz starts off with a classic trio of controls – Volume (Output), Treble (Tone) and Fuzz (Distortion). Digging in a little deeper, we see there’s a Color control, which moves from an extremely gated and velcro-like ripping fuzz when turned to the left to a smoother, more Muff-oriented sound when turned to the right. This knob will do beautifully dirty and sputtery stutter bursts, as well as long, sustained chords and gorgeous lead adventures.

Let’s not forget about the two toggle switches here as well: the top toggle gives you 3 different clipping options to choose from, while the side toggle acts as a Mode switch. You get to select from a crunchy fuzz with ripping high end OR a smoother fuzz with massive low end, with each producing its own unique blend of distorted gooey fuzz. Mixing and matching this many options leads to a discovery of completely new and exciting fuzz sounds, ones you’ll be coming back to again and again for a long time.

Packed into a hand-stamped aluminum enclosure, the Thundercloud Fuzz boasts a bright purple LED, as well as true bypass switching. An excellent addition to any rig, this is our first venture into the world of Lynx.FX, and we can’t wait to see what else they’ve got up their sleeves.
